Steel slag and blast-furnace slag cement (abbreviation is steel slag cement) is one of important ways of synthetic usage of steel and iron slag. The study shows ways to improve the strength and performance of steel slag cement. The properties of steel slag cement can reach the current No.525 grade quality requirements through adopting such measures as using activators to stimulate steel and blast-furnace slag activity, adding component which produce early strength and ameliorating the cement component. A way of stable yields and grade in the process of producing steel slag cement was found out for factory. The studies of properties of steel slag cement show that No.525 steel slag cement has more compact structure, low porosity and less volume pore in microscopic. In order to produce AFT and C-S-H, activators should harmonise Na-Ca-SO4 and corporate liquid phase alkaline degree in cement system. No.525 steel slag cement possesses the following characteristics: high strength at late age, compact structure, good impermeability, good wear-resistance and good corrosion resistance.
