Non-local damage analysis of three-point bending tests on SFRC notched beams
Results from the analysis of three point bending tests on beams of three different sizes and made of concretes with three different fiber volume contents have been shown in this paper. The work has been intended as the first step in the application of the proposed modelling approach to the analysis of more complex fracture processes in SFRCs, such as the ones which take place in splitting tests (mode I) as well as in push-off tests. The results confirm that the 'Crush-Crack' non-local damage model, together with a reliable constitutive law for the uniaxial tensile behaviour of the material, is reliably applicable to the analysis of fracture and damage processes in fiber reinforced concretes. Also the proposed method to extract the material residual strength directly from flexural test results seems to be effective, even if a direct experimental measurement of the CTOD value could be useful in order to apply it in a more consistent way.
