Flexural-shear interaction in high strength fibre reinforced concrete beams
In the present work the results of an experimental and analytical investigation on the flexural behaviour of high strength fibre reinforced concrete beams subject to monotonic loads are presented. The analytical model considered allows one to evaluate the shear strength of high strength concrete beams also taking into account the effects of fibres, of transverse steel reinforcements, and of the size of the beams. The effectiveness of the model adopted is verified by means of an experimental investigation carried out on beams prepared with or without fibres of different types and with two different stirrup pitches. The results obtained show the effectiveness of fibres in shear reinforcement for high strength beams affected by brittle failure.
