New development on cranckcase relief valves give optimum engine room safety
A combination of explosion tests, design work and mathematical modeling has been used to find new generations of flame arresters in explosion relief valves. As a result of the latest developments, Hoerbiger Ventilwerke can supply explosion relief valves that reliably prevent flame escape in case of explosions in the crankcase, in case of backfire into the inlet duct or misfire into the exhaust system of internal combustion engines. Explosion relief valves with flame arresters of latest design have already made their way to the market. They are an accepted and widely used relief valve for maximum safety in engine rooms for many users of internal combustion engines. The 'zero flame escape' feature enables users of internal combustion engines, i.e. diesel, gas and dual fuel engines, to use their equipment also in hazardous environment like engine rooms on multiple purpose rescue vessels or compressor stations on gas pipelines.
