The research of anti-freezing admixture for lime-flyash aggregate and the anti-freezing mechanism is proposed. Some available anti-freezing components which were discovered in the early research are utilized in three orthogonal designs. According to the analysis of the experimental result, three kinds of anti-freezing admixtures are obtained. The mechanism of anti-freezing admixture is discussed with concerned experiments. Finally, three technical methods, including lowering freezing point, increasing strength and entraining air, are found to improve the anti-freezing ability of lime-flyash aggregate.
