The electrochemical treatment for the repair of corroded, real-existence concrete structures is presented here. Investigations on corroded, reinforced concrete members with cracks were conducted in this study. A plastic panel was attached to the surface of the concrete member, and the external solution was filled up in the panel. A direct current was fed between the reinforcing steel in concrete and a titanium-mesh immersed in the external solution. Visual observation and electrochemical investigations were performed to assess the effectiveness of this method. The results indicate that electrodeposits formed on the concrete surface are able to close concrete cracks and that this method is effective on repassivity of reinforcing steel in concrete.
