Manufacturing variation of the measuring tube in a Coriolis flowmeter
The Coriolis flowmeter is essentially a vibrating fluid-conveying tube which is driven at a resonant frequency. Manufacturing variation of this measuring tube may have an important effect on the cost and performance of the final product. To investigate this, a finite element (FE) model is developed by coupling the vibrating beam and the internal fluid as an inviscid and incompressible constant flow. Then, manufacturing variations are simulated to evaluate their effects. The major objective of this work is to identify the key parameters involved in manufacturing the measuring tube and to propose a proper control of these parameters.
