Energy losses of a tele-operated skid steering mobile machine
This paper deals with a teleoperated skid steering mobile machine. The drive and the working actions of the machine are electro-hydraulically operated. The microprocessor based controller uses the feedback signals of the actuators in addition to operator's command when generating the new command signals of the hydraulic actuators. The energy losses of the hydraulic circuit are described by means of mathematical models of components in this paper. The models have the same structure as Thoma's models. The new models also take into account the losses associated with the pipes and valves. At the end all the hydraulic losses both in the drive and the working hydraulics are summarized to flow and torque losses of the actuators. Traditionally the hydrostatic drive is realised with the closed hydraulic circuit. The hydraulic losses in an open hydraulic circuit are located differently as in a closed hydraulic circuit. The distribution of the losses of the open hydraulic circuit will be presented in the paper.
