AFTER-BOND prestressing steel for high performance prestressing tendons in bridges and other structures
AFTER-BOND prestressing steel was developed for non-grouting post-tensioning tendons. Each tendon is composed of a single strand coated with cold setting resin (still not yet hardened) and covered with a deformed plastic sheath. The resin hardening time can be controlled and bonded members can be obtained after a certain period of time. Characteristics and development of this steel are described in this paper.
