Statistical analysis of the effect of the number of profile lines on the fractographic and fractal proporties including the profile line development factor, the fracture surface development factor, and the fractal dimension, as determined by the chord method, and the fractal dimension, as determined by the box method was performed. The parameters were determined for the fracture surfaces of basalt and gravel concretes subjected previously to fracture toughness test. The concretes were made of mixtures with the water-cement ratio in the range from 0.41 to 0.61 and with the coarse aggregate to sand ratio varying from 1.5 to 3.5. The necessary number of profile lines was calculated by the analysis of the graphs of variation in the mean value of the fractographic and fractal parameters as a function of the number of profile lines. An arbitrary assumption of the maximum error of mean value estimation was found allowable. The necessary number of profile lines of concrete fractures subjected to testing was found 12 according to results of the performed analysis.
