Study the Smoke Characteristics of Fire in the Ship Engine Room Based on the Different Speeds of Inlet Air
A bulk ship is used for the research object. The simplified model of ship engine room is built, and which is based on the idea of multilayer geometric structure. The fire in ship engine room is simulated by using the software of FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator). Also, under the condition of the speed of inlet air is 1 m/s, 2 m/s, 3 m/s, the change law of the spread speed, the concentration and the temperature of smoke are analyzed. The results show that the speed of inlet air has a greater influence on the change law of smoke. In addition, when the air speed is 3 m/s, the smoke concentration is minimal in the ship engine room, but the decreasing amplitude of temperature is maximal. The results can supply a theoretical foundation for smoke control in ship engine room with multilayer geometric structure.
