Behavior of fiber reinforced polymer concrete
In this study the behavior of polyester polymer concrete (PC) and glass fiber reinforced polymer concrete (GFRPC) was investigated using both destructive and nondestructive testing techniques. The static properties of interest were the stress-strain relationship, modulus, Poisson's ratio, peak strength, and peak strain. The dynamic properties that were determined are compression and shear moduli, Poisson s ratio, and the pulse velocity. Axial compression, splitting tension, impact properties of PC and GFRPC. The addition of 6 % glass fibres to the PC system improved the compressive strength by 16 % and doubled the splitting tensile strength. Fifty percent improvement in the peak compressive strain was also observed. Static modulus and Poisson's ratio were compared to the corresponding dynamic values and were found to be in good agreement. The compressive stress-strain relationship was modeled using a two-parameter model.
