Computer-based raw material blending optimization in a cement manufacturing plant
This paper presents a new computer-based method for calculating the percentage weights of the different raw materials which must be blended in such a way that the chemical composition of the mix satisfy certain quality criteria. Comparison between the proposed technique and other commonly used methods is carried out on actual data collected from Helwan cement factory in Egypt. Results show the efficacy of the suggested method in satisfying the operator requirements, without much relaying on his experience.
