Corrosion protection of heating and cooling water circuits by combined electrochemical and chemical oxygen removal
Corrosion protection by oxygen removal is a well established practice in many technical systems. The most usual methods are dearation and removal by chemical reaction with suitable reduction compounds (e.g. hydrazine). The new methods to be introduced consist of the combination of electrochemical and chemical processes. It has been developed on the basis of a special methods of cathodic protection of boilers using sacrificial anodes with impressed current, known as the guldager process.
