System analysis of dual purpose cycle for desalinated water and power production
The proposed hybrid cycle consists of water and organic fluid cycles arranged and intrrconnected in such a manner that the first cycle yields desalinated water and the second produces power. The organic fluid is Freon-12. Saline water is pumped into the condenser of the Freon cycle and there heated and afterwards heated in the solar heater at constant pressure. Afterwards the water partially evaporates in throttling process. The vapor heats on the Freon in the evaporator of the power cycle and condenses to yield the required desalinated water. The partial and the overall process are mathematically modelled to define the operational parameters and performances of the system. (Jarc)
