Simultaneous optimization for topology and actuator locations on truss structures
This study treats effects of optimization that considers a simultaneous design for topology and actuator locations to reduce the structural distortion of space truss structures supporting antenna reflectors. In the space environments, to correct the shape distortions with actuators actively is required for space structures, because it is difficult to predict correctly the indefinite sources of shape distortions on large complicate structures. At first, we evaluate the effects of structural topology on structural distortion with two-dimensional truss structures through numerical simulation. The results indicate that the performances of structural topology are effective for reducing structural distortion. We also formulated a simultaneous optimal procedure considering both structural topology and active elements.
