Framing, in generic terms, accounts for the remaining 8 %, with lightweight steel accounting for less than 3 % of the total market capacity. The United Kingdom government will soon be lobbied jointly by the steel and timber-framing industries. Therefore, there is huge market potential for lightweight steel-framing in this sector and that is without even considering the self-build and renovation markets. British Steel Strip Products is extensively engaged in developments aimed at increasing the technology of lightweight steel-framed domestic construction and also increasing the share of the overall domestic market for products and customers within that sector.
