Literature Review of Studies on Self-Centering Bridge Pier Joint
A self-centering bridge pier joint consists of energy dissipaters and elastic recovery devices. Energy dissipaters such as energy dissipating bars and dampers can dissipate enough energy; and elastic recovery devices like unbounded prestressed tendons can reduce the post earthquake residual deformation. Combined with relevant literature in this field, this paper analyzes the research status in terms of experimental research, numerical simulation and engineering application of self-centering bridge pier joints and proposes a direction for future research.
