Innovative Singapore Treatment Plant Wins Chinese Design Award
An upgrade to the Chestnut Avenue Water Works (CAWW) in Singapore, China, now one of the largest potable water treatment facilities in the world incorporating membrane filtration, has won a 2003 Design Excellence Award from the Association of Consulting Engineers in Singapore. The consulting firm Black & Veatch contracted with the Public Utilities Board of Singapore to provide study, pilot‐testing, design, supervision of construction, testing, and startup services for the 72 mgd (270 ML/d) facility.
