Eine Plattform für die Wissenschaft: Bauingenieurwesen, Architektur und Urbanistik
This article discusses the development of a new standardized mapping system. The first standardized maps were prepared by the American Water Works Service Company (AWWSC) for the city of Lexington, Kentucky. The program decided on a standard size, was expanded, and aerial photographs from the U.S. Geological Survey were blown up to the proper scale. Preparations of specifications are discussed, along with solicitations of proposals from mapping companies, and the standardization of related records.
