Ozone generators, contactors, and controls in a plant employing ozone for bacterial disinfection might be identical to those of a facility ozonating for odor and taste destruction or oxidation of iron and manganese. Moreover, the problems, capital and operating costs, maintenance demands, and safety considerations will be similar.
