USDOI's Allocation of Colorado River Water Must Include PPR Deliveries
The US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled that the US Department of Interior (USDOI) is obligated by federal statute to use water from the Colorado River system to supply holders of present perfected rights (PPRs). PPRs are those rights to the system's water that: existed as of June 25, 1929; were acquired under state law; and, have been put to beneficial use.
