This article discusses the Water and Sewage Works Manufacturers Association's (WSWMA's) public relations program. The article discusses the 1960 National Conference on Water Pollution that studied the effects of pollution on the health and well‐being of U.S. citizens, along with a television film “Pennies for Health”, public appearances of speakers from industry and elsewhere, radio scripts on water and water pollution, national magazine and newspaper coverage, cartoons, brochures, and women's clubs.
