Als Fritz Ullmann 1914 die beiden ersten Bände der Enzyklopädie der Technischen Chemie herausgab, hätte er sich wohl in seinen kühnsten Träumen nicht vorstellen können, dass das Werk 100 Jahre später immer noch das Standardwerk der industriellen Chemie und des chemischen Ingenieurwesens sein wird. 2014 fasst das Werk nicht nur in 40 gedruckten Bänden, sondern auch elektronisch nach wie vor den Stand der Technik zusammen.
When Fritz Ullmann edited the first two volumes of the Encyclopedia of Industrial Chemistry in 1914, he did not dare to imagine that 100 years later this work would still be the standard resource of knowledge in the fields of industrial chemistry and chemical engineering. In 2014, the encyclopedia is available in 40 printed volumes and electronically, and it still summarizes the state of the art.
