Organizing and managing South Dakota's rural water systems
Rural water systems have been developed in South Dakota within the past 12 years to provide sufficient quantities of good water to thousands of farmers, ranchers, and small towns. Grass roots initiatives evolved into functioning water systems and cooperation among systems to improve services economically. The concept is expected to result in a growing number of systems to serve the dispersed rural population of South Dakota.
