Am 11. März 2004 starben in Madrid 191 Menschen bei terroristischen Bombenanschlägen auf vier Vorortzüge. 1824 Menschen wurden zum Teil schwer verletzt. Das direkt am Atocha‐Bahnhof im Zentrum von Madrid gelegene, gläserne Mahnmal zur Erinnerung an die Opfer wurde am dritten Gedenktag in einer Zeremonie durch Juan Carlos, König von Spanien, und seine Frau Sophia der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert.
Glass monument for remembrance of the terrorist attack from March 11 in 2004 in Madrid.
On March 11, 2004 in Madrid, 191 people were killed in terrorist bomb attacks on four suburban trains. In addition to the lives lost, 1824 people were severely injured. The glass monument for remembrance of the victims is situated next to the Atocha Railway Station in the centre of Madrid and was publicly inaugurated by Juan Carlos I, King of Spain and Queen Sofía on the three year anniversary of the attacks.
