Soil Evaluation in Relation to Cast‐Iron Pipe
In the appraisal of soil and other conditions that affect the corrosion rate of cast iron pipe, this article discusses a minimum number of considerations which must be included. They include: earth resistivity; consideration of pH; oxidation reduction potential; moisture content; stray direct current; ferrous underground structures; protection procedures; coatings; cathodic protection; and, polyethylene tubing.
