Distribution System Operation and Maintenance—The Outlook for Today and Tomorrow
Before the first Distribution System Symposium was held In Los Angeles, Calif. (Feb. 24–27, 1980), there was little or no opportunity for distribution system personnel nationwide to meet and exchange Information. Taking advantage of this historic meeting, AWWA Past‐President Donald K. Shine (1979‐80) and Robert R. Lamson, Director of Technical Services, AWWA, met with five members of AWWA's Distribution Division to discuss the problems distribution systems now face as well as future system needs. Participants Included Ray A. Jackson, Chief of Utilities Operations, Richmond, Va.; Raymond J. Kocol, Engineer In Charge, Milwaukee Water Works Engineering Div., Milwaukee, Wis.; George O. Muller, Assistant Director of Utilities, Water Dept., Arlington, Tex.; John A. Roller, Superintendent, Tacoma Water Div., Tacoma, Wash.; and Harry Snider, Assistant Director, Kansas City Water Dept., Kansas City, Mo.
