Water Emergency Roundtable Discussion Guide
The Association of State Drinking Water Administrators' (ASDWA's) Drinking Water Security Committee (DWSC), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Region 5's (Chicago, Ill.) Water Security Advisor, and the city of Evanston (Ill.) Water Division have partnered to create a document titled Water Emergency Roundtable ‐ Outline for Discussion. The outline combines government and private‐sector resources to enhance the water utilities' resilience to all types of disasters, whether natural or human‐caused. The outline is based on an earlier event hosted by Evanston in September 2009, where Evanston brought together its staff, critical water customers, and essential emergency response personnel to have an informal discussion about expectations, roles, capabilities, and limitations among these three groups in the event of a major water emergency.
