Mechanistic model for facultative stabilization ponds
ABSTRACT: In this work a 12‐parameter mechanistic model representing the biochemical interactions in facultative stabilization ponds is proposed (as an extension of the Fritz et al. [ 1979] model). An acceptable degree of fitness between the model predictions and the experimental data from the real plant was obtained. The stability of calculated concentrations with respect to small changes in the kinetic constant values of the model were also studied.
