Soft Perovskite Semiconductors for Future Optical Electronics
This chapter provides an overview of the main aspects of interface engineering, compositional engineering, and bandgap engineering effects to understand the physical processes involved in semiconductors‐based PSCs, structure, characteristics, and innovative applications. Metal halide PSCs have attracted a lot of attention in optoelectronic applications due to the quick development of photovoltaic and light‐emitting diode technologies. The exceptional optoelectronic properties of metal halide perovskites are significant for a variety of applications; among these are the intriguing properties of compositional engineering‐based bandgap tunability, recombination, and interfacial engineering, which are critical for perovskite (LEDs). besides their broad substrate compatibility, wide wavelength tunability, and inexpensive solution processability, which have elevated them to a highly sought‐after class of developing semiconducting materials.
