This chapter will look at the impacts of sustainable buildings on occupant satisfaction and the mechanisms to identify and provide effective space for improved productivity. This will include identifying the points for changing space requirements and occupancy evaluation:
• Introduction to occupant satisfaction;
• Triggers for a change in the workplace;
• Pre‐ and post‐occupancy evaluations;
• Behavioural change.
• Healthy buildings can significantly improve workforce performance;
• Employee feedback will help to target key gaps in the refurbishment;
• The refurbishment of buildings can provide a significant opportunity to improve the performance of their occupants.
