Bathophenanthroline Method for the Determination of Ferrous Iron
In laboratory studies performed at the University of Illinois on the removal of iron from groundwater, ferrous iron was determined with bathophenanthroline after the sample was buffered to a pH of 4 with sodium acetate‐acetic acid. The ferrous‐bathophenanthroline complex was then extracted with isoamyl alcohol.
