How the Ontario, Canada, Section is Developing Student Chapters
This article discusses the Ontario Water Works Association (OWWA) student chapter program that consists of four chapters from the following Canadian universities: University of Toronto, University of Waterloo, University of Guelph, and University of Western Ontario. In general, each chapter consists of an executive committee, faculty advisor, and general members. The executive committee runs the chapter by setting goals, organizing and promoting events, and providing feedback and updates on activities to the Young Professionals (YP) student chapter subcommittee. The main objectives of the OWWA student chapter program are to benefit students by assisting them in being recognized by, and gaining access to, industry professionals. This article discusses several different approaches that have been taken to accomplish these objectives.
