Ground Water—A Neglected Resource
This article discusses the extent of groundwater resources in the U.S., and divides the country's groundwater into five major groundwater provinces, with four provinces extending more or less in a north‐south direction, and a fifth province cutting across the northerly boundaries of the other four. Topics covered include: differences in utilization; variations in temperature; salinity; contamination by wastes; depletion; mining of groundwater; and, utilization schedules.
