USEPA Action Deemed Reasonable
Three groups of petitioners sought review of the US Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) ruling which sets recommended levels of zero for all volatile organic chemicals (VOCs) the EPA considers to be probable carcinogens. The petitioners argued that the USEPA's decision to set VOC levels at zero was based solely on a misconception that the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) compelled such action. A court of appeals ruled for the USEPA.
