We consider the problem of obtaining a confidence region for the blending coefficient in the blended underground storage tank (UST) leak model. Under this model, the blending coefficient estimator is a ratio of two correlated normal random variables. Fieller's method provides a simple way of obtaining limits with exact coverage probability. This confidence interval can be inverted to test the hypothesis that the advertised blending ratio is correct. This method is applied to the Cary blended site data, and several variations are included to account for outliers and a change point. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
