This chapter provides the tools—acceleration strategies—to deliver people's preferred future ahead of schedule. It discusses several of the most common biases people experience and how people can use conflicting information and knowledge to make better decisions. The chapter serves as a cautionary tale on how the willingness of people to embrace change, even essential change, may hinder people's ability to ever achieve the Sustainable Nation Theory of Change (TOC). It describes an unavoidable influence on change: markets. The chapter explains one of the most effective ways to overcome how people perceive change: campaigns. It explores how waging a campaign—for public health, consumer products, military victory, or to spread disinformation—is the go‐to strategy for speeding up, or slowing down, change. The chapter also discusses how professional training and culture may contribute to the persistence of counterproductive practices. It applies the networks of practice (NoP) framework to the task of making the United States a walkable country.
