Eine Plattform für die Wissenschaft: Bauingenieurwesen, Architektur und Urbanistik
This chapter provides the student with a practical overview of building material examinations employed within the field of forensic science. A building material is any product that can be used for construction purposes. Building materials can easily be transferred whenever there is contact between two objects, or an individual and another object. The chapter presents step‐by‐step procedures to help the student develop a basic understanding of cement and concrete, fiberglass versus rock wool samples, and plaster and drywall samples. It lists the equipment and supplies required, along with standard laboratory safety procedures for this experiment. The chapter concludes with report requirements, report questions and numerous references for further reading.
