Trends in outsourcing for water utilities
This article discusses how many utilities are choosing to outsource their information technology (IT), distribution, and even their manufacturing operations in order to lower operating costs and increase quality of service. A case study is given where the Truckee Meadows Water Authority turned to outsourcing as a way of saving large capital investment and subsequent IT maintenance responsibilities.
