Becoming a Woman Entrepreneur in the Water Services Industry
This article summarizes the experiences of two women who, after working together for many years in the engineering and environmental consulting industry, started a small business of their own in the water industry. The article discusses their transition from the security of working for an established firm to managing a small startup company, becoming certified as a woman‐owned business, the educational background necessary to start a business, the risks involved in starting a business, and lists the highlights of working at KDA during the past five and a half years. The article provides recommendations for starting your own business.
