Maarten Schalekamp, president of the International Water Supply Association (IWSA), discusses the objectives of his two‐year term as president of IWSA and the operations of the Zurich Water Supply with David B. Preston, executive director of AWWA. Schalekamp desires to increase the membership of IWSA, to create the office of secretary general of IWSA, and to improve the continuity of setting general policy for the association. The Zurich Water Supply, of which Schalekamp is general manager, serves approximately 750,000 people with a daily consumption average of 220,000 m3.
