Distribution Main Extension Policy in the Pacific Northwest
This article discusses a survey of 110 cities in the Pacific Northwest regarding policies for the extension of residential distribution mains. The particular policy followed is not as important as its equitable administration and equal treatment of all residential consumers. The survey results show average conditions throughout the Northwest, and cities and water utilities were categorized according to population served. In some instances, the data was also broken down by states. Efforts were made to show regional rather than local municipal conditions.
