The following Roundtable is a condensed version of the discussion at a June 7 seminar On small water Systems during the 1981 annual conference. The symposium was moderated by Robert G. McCall, director of the environmental health division, West Virginia state health department. McCall serves on the AWWA/CSSE cooperation and coordination committee. Other participants were Hugh Hansen, chief of the Science and Technology Branch, Office of Drinking Water, US Environmental Protection Agency; Meredith Thompson, director of Publications Training and Education, Conference of State Sanitary Engineers; Ralph Leidholdt, former supervisor of AWWA Training Development; Hugh Hetzer of Kelly, Gidley, Blair & Wolfe consultants of Charleston, W. Va.; Ira Markwood, Illinois Environmental Protection Agency; Thomas J. Sorg, chief of inorganic and particulate control. Research Division of the Office of Drinking Water, USEPA; Robert Johnson, training director of the National Rural Water Association; Robert Clark, chief of economic analysis, Research Division of the Office of Drinking Water, USEPA; Ray Taylor, research biologist, Office of Drinking Water, USEPA; and Robert Wubbena, consultant and chairman of the AWWA committee that is studying regionalization.
