Lossless network skeletonization
Skeletonization has commonly been used to reduce the amount of data needed to simulate the performance of a hydraulic network. However, traditional methods of skeletonization can have a detrimental effect on solution results. This article describes a method of network skeletonization that produces results that are essentially identical to a solution without skeletonization, thus improving solution efficiency without creating a downside. This method is applied within a hydraulic solution approach that differs significantly from the method commonly used and offers distinct advantages over previous methods.
