Design of Water Systems for High‐Rise Buildings
This article discusses the development and evolution of water systems for high‐rise buildings. The article chronicles the strong movement away from overhead tanks and hydropneumatic tanks to continuously‐running pumps for water supply. The economic consequences of a lack of accurate information on demand alone are of great importance, and the noise problem to which improper sizing contributes, are ample justification to restructure the entire basis for sizing of water supply systems.
