This chapter transfers the deterioration laws established in previous chapters to the structural level, addressing the alteration of deterioration kinetics as a result of service conditions in a structural context. In the first part, the tangible effect of loading is attributed to induced cracks in structural concretes, and transport in a single crack and crack networks is investigated through modeling and experimental evidence. Then, multi‐fields concepts are established for engineering use, treating thermal transfer, moisture transport, and thermal‐hydro‐couplings. As a special case of multi‐field problems, drying–wetting actions are analyzed through influential depth modeling and multiphase transport modeling. Several characteristic lengths are deduced from these models, with the aim to help engineers quantify the magnitude of the influential depth in a concrete surface subject to complicated hydro‐thermal actions.
