Distribution System Planning in Denver, Colo.
This article discusses an analytical approach that provided the Denver Water Board with a sound basis for operational studies and facility planning through a detailed understanding of the capabilities and reactions of the transmission and distribution system. Operation of the system has become more efficient, and operational studies provided a basis for operation by a “data‐logger,” presently being installed at the dispatch headquarters. Operational studies have also provided guides for adapting major new facilities to be placed in operation. Present facilities and their capabilities are evaluated continually, and the economies and efficiency of alternative methods of operation are provided as a basis for decision making on both the operational and management levels.
