Characterization of Chemical Sludges
Sludge solids generated from water‐treatment plants along the major midwestern rivers present a particularly difficult disposal problem. Since these waters are both hard and often very turbid, large quantities of solids are produced. In this article, chemical sludges from plants along the Missouri River were related to variations in treatment schemes and raw‐water quality.
