Analysis of the Dehydration Effects on Mass and Heat Transfer
The aim of this paper is to study the cement paste dehydration effects on the thermo‐hydro‐mechanical behavior (THM) of concrete at high temperatures. The mathematical formulations of the THM model based on the mechanics of unsaturated porous material are described. The dehydration effects are illustrated by a comparison between experiment and simulation. The experiment test was performed at the CEA (Commissariat à l'énergie atomique) and consists of heating a concrete cylinder subjected to high temperature at the intrados face. Two types of simulations are presented: one includes dehydration and another the other does not. Comparison to experiment results shows the effect of taking into account the dehydration in a THM model.
